Premier Technology Workshops

We at Premier, are fortunate to have working relationships with some of the foremost experts in the field of modern circuit board design. As a result, we have put together a comprehensive range of high quality Technology Workshops designed to provide a fast track for those wishing to gain specific knowledge quickly and in an easily-digestible format.

With a focus on the hottest challenges facing the industry, we bring some of the world's leading experts in modern electronics design to the UK and Ireland to help us present a practical approach to the serious design issues. Typically, these Technology Workshops are one-day training events running with a workshop theme and are accompanied by high quality delegate notes, references for further study and a vast array of useful hints and tips.

Please see the Technology Workshops series below and select the workshop you are interested in for further information. Alternatively please contact us to discuss the possibility of arranging an on-site workshop.

Tutor, Jeff Punch

Premier have teamed up with Jeff Punch from the Stokes Research Institute, University of Limerick, to produce this new 1-day workshop. The aim of this workshop is to provide delegates with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practice of thermal management in electronic systems. It brings into focus the problems, and solutions, of designing PCBs for the thermal environment, and will show how to achieve this by the use of practical examples.

Signal Integrity and EMI Control in High Speed Digital Circuits

Tutor, Rick Hartley

The increase in switching speeds of modern digital electronics causes significant challenges for the PCB designer. In such cases, the physical interconnections on the PCB act as "components" in their own right. Tackling these issues often involves a lot of maths plus filtering "black magic" from hearsay. Rick Hartley is one of our most popular speakers, adopting a down to earth approach backed up by several years of high speed design experience. This workshop has had its content revised and updated to include the very latest developments in high speed design, and is a must for those involved in design of these critical circuit boards.

Next course: 19th - 20th October

Circuit Board Layout Issues for EMC Compliance

Tutor, Martin O'Hara

A one-day course targeted at practising electronics and PCB designers who want practical advice on how to design for EMC compliance from the start of a project. The aim is to provide attendees with a background in the common techniques used to avoid EMC problems both at the component selection and layout stages, as well as provide tips on embedded software issues that can produce "unexpected" problems if not considered.
