With the introduction of Service Pack 2 for DXP 2004 it is now possible to perform parametric searches of your libraries. The Libraries Search dialog box has changed from previous versions of DXP to include the ability to search for components using queries. If you wish to run a search based on instances of the name and description it will automatically create a query using wild cards to find relevant components. For Example Open the Search dialog box by clicking the Search button in the Libraries Panel, you could type in a name of “741” and click the Search button. In the results, shown in the Library panel, you will find all components called *741* i.e. LM741H. If the library is not installed when you try to place the component it will ask you if you wish to install it. Clicking Search again you will see that the “741” you typed in was automatically changed to a query that searched all instances of Name and Description using wildcards. (Name like '*741*') or (Description like '*741*') It will also have saved this in your History, which you could transfer to your Favourites. If you wish you can create your own queries and even perform parametric searches based on user defined parameters. For example you could search for a specific Part Number. Has Parameter(‘Part Number’,’U001680’)
Using the Helper button you can build different queries searching by many different aspects including Component Type, Pin Count and even Footprint Height. |
