With the recent release of Altium's web update of 6.3 http://www.altium.com/Evaluate/DEMOcenter/AltiumDesignerNewFeatures/ we have had a number of questions on how to update Altium Designer 6 to the latest version.  Below are the 3 methods of updating detailed by Altium.

1. Web updates from Altium Designer

Altium Designer 6.0 includes the ability to check for updates from within the software (DXP » Check for Updates).  Available updates can be downloaded and automatically installed from within Altium Designer. 

This is configured in the Altium Designer preferences panel (DXP » Preferences » System » Altium Web Update). The default location for web updates is: http://www.altium.com/webupdate/
You can also change the frequency of checks here, for example it can be changed to On Altium Designer Startup.

Note that the downloaded updates are saved in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\AltiumDesigner6\Updates, these are executable files and can be archived and/or used to install the updates on other AD6 installations.

2. Self-contained updates with setup programs

If you do not have internet on the PC's that you have AD6 installed you can download self-contained updates from the Altium website.  

3. Manually downloading web updates for Altium Designer

If you have multiple licenses of Altium Designer you may prefer to perform a network installation.  This is done by copying a set of update files into a directory on your network and instruct each AD6 installation to look to this directory when checking for updates.

In order to do this you need to download the manual downloading updates.
