Electronics Design Show 2016

In October and for the fifth year in a row, the Electronics Design Show achieved record visitor numbers. In all, more than 4,200 design engineering professionals attended the whole Engineering Design Show event.

This lively two-day event hosted 23 thought-provoking conference sessions, panel discussions and workshop sessions for visitors wanting to learn new skills or take away practical design tips and expert advice. We're proud to be long-standing, headline sponsors of the Show and support its efforts to keep design engineers aware of new developments and possibilities with our activities.

On-booth presentations and product demonstrations

Our Application Support Engineers, technical experts in the Altium software, delivered a schedule of presentations. Visitors learnt ways to create robust libraries, the virtues of reusing design circuitry for streamlining schematic design, the productivity enhancements in Altium Designer PCB layout and how the software ensures outputs are consistent and verified.

Visitors also had the benefit of previewing the new ActiveRoute¬Ě™ capabilities which will be in the forthcoming Altium Designer 17. You can see it in action now in Altium's on-demand webinar.

Professional learning

Nearly 200 design professionals attended our Managing Director's workshop "Evolution of PCB Design Skill Sets, Smart Tools and Complex Constraints."

Philip Mayo holds over 35 years of experience in advising SMEs in improving electronics design processes. At his packed workshop, engineering managers and technical directors took away advice on best handling the evolving needs, skills and constraints the modern PCB designer faces. Attendees garnered tips on filling capability gaps in current PCB design tools and received an insightful prediction of what could be expected in next generation tools.

Content across all the workshop sessions was reviewed by the Institution of Engineering Designers (IED) Membership Committee and was approved for CPD certification. Visitors who attended any of the free workshop sessions could earn CPD points as well as keep up to date with the latest engineering design projects and solutions.

The Electronics Design Show is an ideal platform for showcasing and delving into British engineering design excellence. The Show will run again next year at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry from 18th – 19th October 2017. We look forward to you joining us then.
