Licensing Options

Altium Designer products are supplied subject to acceptance of Altium’s End User License Agreement supplied within the delivered packaging.

“Nodelocked” licenses are generally used for single stand-alone installation and are assumed to be the default licensing mechanism if not specified. The license agreement does allow for the same user to make a second installation of a nodelocked license on a home computer.

“Networked” licenses are for installation on a Local Area Network allowing shared access to the license(s) controlled from a central server.

Upgrade pricing for older versions of the software require the customer to provide a valid serial number for the older version. Having upgraded, the older version will be registered as “devalued” and may not be used, transferred or upgraded further.

Time-based Licensing provides a lower cost entry into the Altium Designer world. As the name suggests, the software will operate for a 12-month period from the installation date. After that period, the software will cease to operate and the customer may choose to purchase additional licenses as desired. Time-based Licensing automatically includes the security of a 12-month Software Assurance contract.

System Requirements

Details of the minimum and recommended system for running Altium Designer may be found on Altium's website.
